As bright the dew upon the rose,
Though no eye sees its glisten;
As sweet the song the singer sings,
Though none may look nor listen.

What matter if the world go by
Nor praise nor incense bringing!
Sing as the birds, God’s poets, sing
For the full joy of singing.
